This time we are introducing a renovation plan for a 41-year old two-storey wooden house. The client is a couple in their 20s with a one-year-old child.

Flat I is a renovation plan for a second-hand condominium for a couple in their early-twenties and their two-year-old child, nestled in the greenery of Kasugai.

Blurring the line between inside and outside – the boundary is redefined a buffer zone, a place where inhabitans can play and enjoy their hobbies and benefit the best of both worlds.

The Embankment House is situated on a long and narrow north-south facing plot located in a heavily industrialized area.

In order to create a better sense of distance and presence with the surroundings, we designed a house that is open and connected to its surroundings.

A house where family can be united whilst maintaining individual privacy. A balance of both openness and independence, a space that is both comfortable and easy to live in.

A project inspired by shinden-zukuri – spaces joined by corridors and bridges, creating unity with the surrounding environment and an undeniable sense of calmness and ‘wa’.

An open and rich environment for two families – mutual privacy without sacrificing closeness, in harmony with nature and its surroundings.

 This site is comprised of three lots located about ten minutes on foot from Kakuouzan Station in a quiet, secluded, high-class residential area.

This project is a showroom for the 65-year-old ‘Oshima Shoe Store’ in Ichinomiya, Aichi, and is designed based on ‘Japanese modern’ aesthetics.

They say that ‘fashion starts from the feet’, but the same can be said for architecture, as well as fashion. ‘

This project is a Semi-Basement Coffee Shop of a building  with a residential area and a beauty salon – a vertically long building of about 40m2, a width of 3m and a height of 11m.

The palette of materials consists of white-painted wood and rough white bricks, accented with a large, circular mirror that gives a sense of space and openness.

A black rock, positioned high up in the mountains. Atop rests a little glass box, looking out in every derection onto breathtaking views.

Extension project for the NHS in Rock Ferry, British Burkenhead, consisting of a treatment room, doctor’s office and pharmacy.

Designed like a commune – an environment that encourages the building of relationships, a place where children can play, that also  maintains individual privacy.
